Nato a Toronto, Daniel Negreanu capisce presto di avere una vocazione per il gioco d'azzardo e in particolar modo per il poker. All'età di 21 Daniel fiducioso delle sue capacità lascia la scuola e si trasferisce a Las Vegas per praticare il poker a tempo pieno.
Con un piazzamento al primo posto nel 1997 al World Poker Finals Foxwoods, Da qui in poi il cammino di Daniel nel mondo dei tornei pokeristici è stato sempre in salita. Egli ha poi aggiunto tre World Series of Poker,, due World Poker Tour, e più di trenta vittorie in tornei in tutto il mondo.

Daniel ha agito come un tutor per i nuovi giocatori, ha scritto più di un centinaio di articoli sul poker, ed ha anche contribuito al libro di Doyle Brunson's' Super System II. '

Negreanu attualmente risiede a Las Vegas con la moglie, Lori, e continua ad essere il modello di compostezza e di successo per la nuova generazione di giocatori di poker.
